About

Business News, Without the Noise

The Business Mail reports on the companies, founders and markets shaping global commerce. We publish for people who make decisions, and we write accordingly.

Who we are

An independent business publication with a global remit

The Business Mail covers business as it actually happens: the deals, the results, the appointments, the expansions, the failures and the shifts that move an industry. We are not tied to a single country or region. A story from Colombo matters as much as one from London if the substance is there.

Much of what passes for business media is either recycled newswire copy or promotion in a news typeface. We built this publication on the opposite premise. Every article should tell a reader something they did not know, and anything commissioned should be labelled so the reader always knows what they are reading.

We are a young publication and we say so plainly. What we can promise is accuracy, clarity, and a willingness to correct ourselves in public when we get something wrong.

“Report what happened. Explain why it matters. Label anything that was commissioned. That is the whole editorial standard.”
Our founding principle
Coverage

What we report on

Markets

Equities, commodities, currencies and the movements that change how businesses plan.

Economy

Policy, rates, inflation, trade balances and the macroeconomic picture behind the headlines.

Corporations

Results, leadership changes, acquisitions, restructures and corporate strategy.

Startups

Funding, launches, growth stories and the founders building the next generation of companies.

Trade

Supply chains, tariffs, corridors and the movement of goods across borders.

Technology

The technology shifts with genuine commercial consequence, reported for business readers rather than engineers.

How we work

The standards we hold ourselves to

Accuracy before speed

We would rather publish an hour later and be right. Figures are checked against primary sources: filings, official statements and regulator releases rather than secondary reporting.

Commissioned content is labelled

Features written on commission carry a visible label. Commissioning a feature never buys favourable coverage elsewhere, and it never influences our reporting.

Corrections in the open

When we get something wrong we correct the article and note what changed. We do not quietly edit and move on.

Independence

Commercial relationships grant no editorial influence. No partner sees editorial copy before publication or has any say over what we cover.
